Blue Trunk Library Updates

Two updates on the Blue Trunk Libraries (March 7, 2006) to tell you about.

Regina Ungerer of the World Health Organization writes:

Since April 2005, the World Health Organization is developing an initiative called ePORTUGUÊSe to disseminate health information through any means available (electronic, or hard copies) to the eight Portuguese speaking Member States (Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, Sao Tome & Principe and Timor-Leste).

A Portuguese version of the Blue Trunk Library called "Biblioteca Azul" is in its final stages of development and will be displayed for public view at the World Health Assembly, next May.

And here's a response to John Norris's questions from Mrs. Marie-Paule Kabore, the Chief Librarian of the W.H.O. Regional Office for Africa in Congo/Brazzaville:

Putting the Blue Trunk Library material on a DVD is a very good initiative. Meanwhile we have to discuss the copyright issue with our colleagues in WHO Headquarters in Geneva. Then we will come back to you.
